The new image and brand of the Nampa School District

Join our fellow Nampa Rotarian, David Peterson, Superintendent of the Nampa School District, as he updates us on the new image and brand of the Nampa School District, what their vision and mission looks like, as well as an update on the new innovative schools.

Here is a short summary about David.....

On my way to becoming a clinical psychologist, I signed up for a field experience at the UW Child Development and Mental Retardation Center where my clinical psychology mentors worked. Over two years I worked in specialized classrooms for students with various disabilities, ending up with my M.Ed and teaching certificate.

I began to understand the power of high quality instruction to change lives. I gained an appreciation of the importance of a connected and supportive system dedicated to continuously improve teaching and learning. I learned the importance of data in decision making. I have learned that what I do, and what my colleagues do, makes all the difference for our students -- and our communities. We have the power to raise student’s aspirations, and get them there. Not by ourselves, but together.
