TRIO Upward Bound: Making Nampa Stronger

Megan Simila is the Educational Specialist at Nampa Senior High School as part of Boise State TRIO University’s Upward Bound program.  She has a biology education degree from Northwest Nazarene University and Masters of Philosophy in Counseling from the University of Cambridge.  Megan taught science in Nampa, Idaho and at an international school in Mexico for five years before joining the TRIO family.  She has worked with Upward Bound for almost three years and in that time has deepened her understanding of what it means to break cycles of poverty with education.  She is humbled and honored to have an amazing group of students at Nampa High that frequently remind her life is about serving others more than being served.  TRIO works!
